Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Herbert protocol relaunch

11am, Westhill, St Austell Co-op store, car park or indoor space (weather dependent)

A joint partnership scheme being re-launched across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, in collaboration with the Co-Operative stores, to help provide police and partner agencies with vital information when they are searching for missing people living with dementia.

Herbert protocol forms will be available to be collected from any of the 42 Co-Operative stores across the county. Carers and family members can then complete the form with personal information such as special places, people, life events, which may be used by the police and other agencies should a person living with dementia go missing.

For people who do not live near, or have access to a Co-Operative store, forms will also be available for collection from town council offices and community centres, where open. You can also download a Herbert protocol form.

The event will also showcase the ride the wave project with goodie bags on display. These bags will soon be offered to families who look after someone who has dementia containing support information and comforting goodies.

Enhancing health care home drop in dementia and mental health

3pm

Emma Higgins, consultant nurse for dementia and older people’s mental health, and Dr Allison Hibbert, NHS Kernow GP clinical lead for dementia and chair of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly dementia partnership board, will both be present delivering a short presentation and including plenty of time for interaction and questions.

Every week we combine the opportunity for clinical development with some protected time for wellbeing and kindness with the wonderful Amy Fox joining us to reflect and rebuild our resilience.

This is a welcoming and friendly space aiming to combine learning with self-healing.
