We are now hosting our public meetings on Microsoft Teams. This page provides step by step instructions on how to join a live event in Teams.
You have 3 choices of joining a meeting on Microsoft Teams:
- Download the Teams app.
- Join a Teams meeting on the web.
- Join a Teams meeting by phone.
Use the app to join a Microsoft Teams meeting
- From your calendar, select ‘join in-progress meeting’.
- Choose the audio and video settings you want.
- Select join now.
Join a Microsoft Teams meeting online
- In your event invite, select ‘join Microsoft Teams meeting’.
- Choose the audio and video settings you want.
- You can sign-in to the event with your name or anonymously.
- Select join now.
Join a Teams meeting by phone
- In your event invite, there will be instructions on how to join by phone.
- Call the number in the invite.
- Enter the conference ID to join.
Depending on the meeting settings, you will either get in right away, or go to a lobby where someone in the meeting can admit you.
Asking questions during the meeting
Select ‘Q&A’ on the right side of the screen. Note, the questions and answer panel only appears if the organiser has set it up.

- Type your question in the compose box, and then select send. If you want to ask your question anonymously, select ask anonymously.
- The featured option allows you to view all the questions asked during the meeting.
Leaving the live event
Once the event has ended, the screen will change. Text will appear saying the ‘live event has ended’.
You can either close the screen with the X in the top right corner of the screen or click the ‘leave’ button.
Meetings where we use Teams
The following meetings are currently being held online:
