The Truro GP Locality comprises of practices based within the city and their approximate 38,000 patients. The locality of Truro is mainly urban with some rural outlying settlements. Perranporth is a coastal town popular with tourists.

The Truro locality is part of a wider group called Carrick Commissioning Consortia. The Consortia covers the Coastal Cluster, Truro and Falmouth and Penryn.
The Carrick Consortia has been an established group of GP practices for at least 12 years and comprises GP and practice manager representatives from each surgery.
